How To Achieve A Healthy Mind and Body During This Pandemic Time

 



By now most of us has been missing out on our usual normal life like previously, right? Step out from home with a bare face (no mask up), don't have to concern about social distancing. We enjoy our high flying job with a monthly paycheck, eat out and take out and so on. I am not sure about you, but I personally miss the freedom, I used to have back then.


Some of us has begun to start living a normal life but not some of us are so lucky as you, thought.

Many of us lose our job due to pandemics and are forced to explore other possible available opportunities for survival sake. It's really hard to cope with losing the job and at the same time freedom was taken from you too. Everything is within whatever space you have at home. Those who are in a rented place is worried about paying the next month rent and so many other commitment. Totally mental health affected for some of us. This is where the news gets sadder and sadder when we read the suicidal rate has increased drastically during the pandemic.


I personally cope with my mental health by getting myself distract through online games and so on. I don't go for war or anything too intense. I am prefer something relaxing such as farming, building the city and cooking games. Cooking games are my all-time favourite game. As its name sounded a bit easy-breezy games. As if you don't need to overthink just to boil an egg. Who doesn't know how to boil eggs, right? But to me, this game is quite challenging though! It's all about time controlling to get a perfect egg and avoid kitchen disasters. What I learned from The Boiled Eggs Game?

I like everything about this game but the only room for improvement for this game developer is to make the colour of the visual brighter and have better sound effects to make it attractive. Even music or the background sound could be improved with something funny or tacky to make it more fun. I will play this game but don't have any interest to play it for a longer time. 



Cooking and Kitchen Work - Sweety Cooking Chocolate Cake


The description stated is all about making your children familiar with the kitchen. But the more I played this game, make me felt more confident in baking a chocolate cake. For your information, I am very bad at baking. What I have learned from the Sweety Cooking Chocolate Cake game?

Personally, I think the games to some extend could be a bit boring. I wish the background music could be better. Like they can make the music fun for people to stay longer in the game. I wish they add the measurement of the chocolate cake ingredients so the kid or even myself have the urge to bake it in real life and enjoy a chocolate cake. It could be a real-life experience for the player. 


I skipped the Food Education Games as an adult who already have knowledge on food and also recycle waste. However, I highly recommend for parents let their children play the games here. Especially, children at an age that need education on food and also give them awareness on recycle waste.




Serving Eaters - My favourite is Burger Now and Burger Time

Although the games speed describes as suit kids from fourth grade to sixth grade, I find myself enjoying this kind of game. I guess it is just my interest!

Seriously, this game could annoy me to the max especially when there are impatient customers. Hahaha to be exact, I was too slow in fulfilling their orders.

In my opinion, just like any other games I have played on this site, I wish they really can make improvements for visual to be more realistic and brighter colour since the current one has dull vibes.



Another game in serving eaters which you shouldn't give a miss is Nickelodeon Cooking Contest. Although, I don't really go into details of this game. I just tried to play two games from here since it has 10 different mini-games. You can introduce your kids to play these interactive games and it teaches kids to slice food, mix ingredients and control cooking timing. Some of the games include making Holland Oats, Krabby Patty, Sushi Dushi, A Kelp Shake, Donuts, Avocado Toast, Sponge Cake, Love Muffins, Hudson's Juice Blend and Steak & potatoes. 

It's really fun, especially, when can learn how to follow instructions and self-control. This game teaches a kid to accept failure and enjoy success every time they play this game. The background intro music is a bit annoying though.

For the Cooking ingredients measurement calculator, I find it really helpful especially for people like me who are used to eating out and suddenly due to the pandemic was forced to eat at home more often. I couldn't effort to order online most of the time due to heavy delivery costs. So, I opted to cook at home. Being a not so skilful cook, I seek online recipes and so on to prepare my meal. Sometimes a craving for dessert which the recipe has certain measurements to make it works. I find measurements in baking or cooking is kind of tricky. 

I am glad this website has the recipe ingredient conversion calculator. It's really straightforward and simple to use. 





Just enter the 'initial amount' and then choose your desired conversion from the drop-down menu. For example from 'teaspoons to ml' or 'cup to ml', 'teacup to cup' or even 'glass to cup'. 

At first, I was doubtful about the cup and glass conversion since the size of glass and cup may vary for some of us. But they are being so detailed to even specified shot glasses from around the world.




One thing really makes me love this site more and more is they have the convenient conversion chart ready. They have the measurement, temperature and even weight.




I use these cooking ingredients calculators so frequent these days.

I wish they cater for Asian region needs too. Anyway, is not so big deal about it since we here in an Asian country can get the other countries tools easily and match theirs.



Weight Loss Calculator


When I first enter into this weight loss calculator, I was a bit puzzled because it shows in lbs and ft or with which I was not so familiar. Then only found out, need to on the 'metric' to change to cm and kg. This is totally a free weight loss calculator with no hidden agenda like asking you to buy any ebook whatsoever. So worry not!


I consider myself obese. Struggling to lose weight in at this late 40s age. I am really glad this website is kind of helpful to analyse my body weight and even define the jargon such as workout calories, WTH which is Waiste to Height, Weeks to Reach Your Goal and so on.



Practically this is the most detail-free guide for me to achieve my ideal weight for this year. I will make use of this website from now on.

Playing Solitaire is The Best Mind Therapy

 


I personally find that Solitaire is the most interesting card game. For me, solitaire keeps my mind busy when I need to forget something or become mind restless. This is a sort of mental activity to keep me stay sane. I can't be reading books, working or even watch TV or even listen to the radio all the time, right? Playing 


Most importantly, I don't need to pay for it. I always play solitaire online free games. No registration is needed too. I just need to open the website either on mobile or desktop and start to play for free.


I usually play Classic Solitaire at the free online game website solitaire.org. 


How to play Classic Solitaire?


In general, this is a sort of stack cards game. Just remember the sequences on suits and rank, for example, the cards will be stacked as K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4,3 2, A with no mixed suits.


Basically, in summary, the rules of Classic Solitaire are :


πŸƒ Usually, cards are arranged from left to right, with the bottom-most of the card each pile placed face-up;

πŸƒ All you need to do is to move the cards from the Table to the Foundations beginning with the Ace of each suit.

πŸƒ Then you need to draw a pile for the source of the new card and draw one card at one time;

πŸƒ You can move the card with lower consecutive and place it below the higher rank. Note that that can happen only if the card is in a different colour;

πŸƒ Two ways to end the Classic Solitaire. Game over only when all cards are cleared or no possible move left.


What is the scoring for Solitaire?

If you are competing with others, TIME is the essence. You will win the game if you are the fastest to complete the game.

A Single-player like me depends on the point system.

How could such easy stacking games be mind therapy or mental exercise?

Well, I myself as a beginner always find myself blocked. This is where you are required to use your brain and find your way out to get the card in order.


Other than Classic Solitaire, there are few types of solitaire games here. I never know that until I found this website. To be honest, all my life I always thought of only one type of solitaire game in the world. 




Klondike Solitaire

How to play  Klondike Solitaire?

You have to move a shuffled deck of cards into four Foundation stacks in ascending order from Ace to King to win the game. Just remember in Klondike Solitaire, Ace is low and King is high. You just lose the game when you're blocked from making the move. I got blocked from the very beginning when I  started this game. kekekeke





Klondike Solitare has no undone button so you need to be extra careful when playing this game. You can get +15 points when you lay a card on the foundation for the first time. If you add a new card to the tableau or turn one over, it will be +5 points. However, you will get -8 points for every 30 seconds. Ahhhhh.... this is why you need to be a quick thinker to win the game.




Spider Solitaire


I still find Spider Solitaire is unreachable for me. It is so difficult for me.


How to play Spider Solitaire?


You are required to assemble thirteen cards of a suit from King to Ace in descending sequence. It will be discarded once you completed all the full suit of thirteen cards. In this game, your brilliant strategy and luck are very important. Don't get yourself block or you will end up losing the game.






You have options on which game mode suit your skill :

Easy - 1 suit
Medium - 2 suits
Hard - 4 suits

Well, if you ask me, I can only complete Easy mode. I still struggle to complete medium mode. Many things to learn.

When playing Spider Solitaire with others, then time is the key. The fastest to complete is the winner. If you are a single player, then scoring is important. You start with 500 points then every move is -1. You will get 100 points for each Royal Flush though.







Free Cell Solitaire



I tried this after founding this free online games website and totally love this. To be honest, it simply easy to complete this game and a good pass time game too.




The game is really simple with just one deck. There are eight rows of cards are dealt to form the Tableau columns and in total 52 cards are used. You can use the four cells to hold a card each. Then you may move any exposed card from the end of a Tableau column to another Tableau column if it creates a descending sequence as long as the colour is different. 

Note that fewer moves is the best for this game to get a better score. So think before you make the next movement.





Pyramid Solitaire



First time try out this game. I find that this one is the fun version of Classic Solitaire.







How to play Pyramid Solitaire?


This game is played with one 52 deck card deck. Deal cards to form a pyramid, starting with a row of one card followed by a row of two cards and so on down to a final row of seven cards. So in total, the pyramid will consist of twenty-eight cards shown face up. Pair cards to a total of thirteen and then moved from play. You can move the Kings without pairing since the Kings are worth thirteen points. You are required to remove all cards from the pyramid in order to complete the game.






Tripeaks Solitaire



This is another fun version of Classic Solitaire. Instead of one pyramid, this one has three peaks. 








How to play Tripeaks Solitaire?


In short, is to clear all the cards from the three peaks. The game is played with one standard deck. Pair cards one at a time to remove them from play and place on top of the discard pile. Note that only open cards can be paired. Just flipped the top card of the deck onto the waste pile when you can't make another move. 
You lost the game if there is no more cards to flip and pair. I am not really a big fan of Tripeaks. I rather play Pyramid over this.








Golf Solitaire


Honestly, I chose this over Pyramid and Tripeaks. Gold Solitaire is suitable for a beginner like me. It took me few minutes to adapt to this game. You may find it really hard to clear all the cards but just aim to clear as many as you can. Be realistic when playing this game. This game is just like its name because same as real golf, a perfect score is hardly achieved.

How to play Golf Solitaire?


You can only move a card from the Table to the Talon pile if no other cards on top of it and it is in sequence. Please note you can only move the top card in each column. Play the cards rank A, 2, 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10,J,Q,K. If no more moves are possible just turn cards up one at a time from the stock to the Talon.
For a difficult version, the Ace and King cannot be played on top of each other. The main objective is to clear the thirty-five cards into the Talon pile You win the game when you clear all thirty-five. Otherwise, you lose the game.





Mahjong Solitaire


I have played the Mahjong game before but never tried Mahjong Solitaire. I would say that this is not much different from playing Classic Solitaire. It just this one uses a set of Mahjong tiles rather than cards.


How to play Mahjong Solitaire?


The game is played with 144 tiles which are all laid out before starting the game. Just aim to match the patterns into pairs and remove them from play. You are unable to remove a tile beneath another tile and you can't move a tile if it is locked. You are the winner if all the tiles are removed from the play.


I love playing Solitaire at Solitaire.org because its automatically deal the cards and if I don't know how to play a certain game, there are guides and tips for me to refer to. The only minus plus for me is whenever I want to start a game it takes a long time to load the game and make me wait. After the game starts, I can play really smooth. Other than that, I really enjoy my time at this game website. Oh! you can opt to play either on desktop or on your mobile. No need to download any applications or registration. MILK NOT JUST FOR BABIES...


Milk is not for only babies or kids. Babies or kids need milk for healthy growth. We adult need to drink milk for our healthy golden years. Once you understand the importance of milk then, one will start drinking milk without a second thought.

5 reasons why milk is good for health :

1. Protein

Excellent source for protein and it has 9 essential amino acids which important to meet our physiological needs.

Regulates our blood pressure and we needed this for muscle contraction.

 3. Calcium

Strengthen our bones and can at least prevent it from old age disease such at osteoporosis.

(***sob sob sob***)  serious wanna cry if talk about this apart from it being too painful at time.

Damage have been done! No point to regret. I am moving forward to sustain life. I started drinking milk. People say...never give up and no such thing as too late. I was not a milk person but  understand how important it is for my health.
