Travelogue : 6th Day , Jeju-do

Wednesday, November 28, 2018 15 Comments
11th October 2018, Thursday

Today leaving out Seogwipo for another hotel for final half of my journey in Jeju-do. I woke up early in the morning and walked out to Maeil Olle Market for simple breakfast I can find there. The weather was a bit chilly on that day. I guess due to the place I stayed is near the seaside.

Maeil Olle Market Seogwipo

There are many local goodies you can find here like my all-time favourite rice cakes and tangerine jam fluffy bread which you can only find it here. I end up eating Oden aka fish cake with anchovies soup for my breakfast. At least a hot soup to warm up my stomach. I bought some bread for my long journey drive later on.

Back to my hotel, I took the lift up to the rooftop to view some of the awesome views of Seogwipo before I leave this place. Snap some spectacular view and check out from the hotel around 11am.

On the way to my second hotel, I stop by Ecoland for some photos and recalling my sweet memories on my last trip here. Why I don't spend my time here? Hurl!!! the entrance price is too expensive. It's KRW12,000/pax. I have been here before.

Check out my previous experience at Ecoland at this LINK.
Manage to snap the Ecoland Forest train and a good selfie before leaving this place. huhuhuhuh...Happy!

I finally reached my second Hotel in Jeju which located right in front of the sea. To be exact just right to the port and near raw fish lane and black port lane. Everything is walking distance here. Even the famous market is just a walking distance from here.

I reached a bit early than check in time and my room was not ready for me. So I end up exploring around the area by foot. Next to the hotel is Antoinette Premium Bakery. Like its name 'premium' so the price charge is very premium. But this place is worth to visit for those who love to take a nice photo. Every single corner is instagrammable. No point for me to selfie here because all I can show you is my 'pweety face' only. muahahahaha.

Next to Antoinette Premium Bakery there is 24-hour hypermarket where you can shop for reasonable price items here. Most items sell in bulk. This is like a wholesale market to me. I bought dozens of banana milk to store in my fridge.

I was hungry because of its lunch time. So I end up have my lunch at McDonald which is also on the same row as the hotel. Awesome choice, huh???

Regent Marine The Blue Hotel,  Jeju-do

Finally, time for me to check into this hotel call Regent Marine The Blue,  Jeju-do. I love the view from my room. I can see the port very clear from the room and the fact they put some small table and chair by the window is super perfect too. The room is spacious and the mattress is super comfy too. But don't fancy the toilet and amenities here. huhuhuh... I am very particular with the toilet in any hotel I went. So if I comment like this doesn't mean its not good. Just me. Very fussy when it comes to the toilet. huhuhuh

I would say overall I am quite satisfied with this place since the location is around 5 minutes from my car rental place and around 15 minutes from the airport. There is no need for me to rush out on my last day here. Dongmun Market is just less than 700 meter from here and famous fashion street and underground shopping mall is just opposite of this hotel. WTH!!!!

Location wise super perfect with such an awesome waking up seaview too. I likeeeeee....

I walked out at night to find my dinner and found that there are 57th Tamna Festival happening around here. Free shows to watch. So, I basically having fun among the crowd here. Actually, not many crowds since it is not weekend yet.

Super delicious braised mackerel and acorn jelly salad

The place I stayed is famous with black pork and if I don't choose the restaurant properly, I will end up 'pig up' a plate of those. huhuhuh... I walked a few times searching for the right restaurant to enter.  Don't think if you see fish and seafood aquarium in front of the restaurant they serve only seafood here. They sometimes serve pork, dog meat and horse meat too. So choose carefully and no harm try to ask the shop owner before entering. I use my broken Korean phrase to ask the shop owner and if I got stuck with what to say I use my list of Korean phrases to point on my question or statement to the owner. They will then reply me with Korean and sign language. So after almost 30 minutes surveyed, I end up finding a place which serves purely fish and seafood.

It was a good choice and end up having an awesome delicious braised mackerel and acorn jelly salad which I really wanted to try and they serve as side dishes here. Before I eat the acorn jelly, I google out the acorn jelly word in Korean language and point out to the restaurant owner for confirmation. She said 'YES'. I was like YEAYYYYY!!!! finally!!! then I keep praising her it really delicious. Serious super delicious! Belly super full and satisfying that night!

Silky Smooth Skin with Althea Milk Cream Mask

Monday, November 26, 2018 15 Comments

I always thought using skincare with Milk as ingredients will be too rich for my skin. I was afraid it will cause oily and acne prone skin. So, I never take any consideration to even try the milk base skincare.

When Althea sent over Milk Peel Cream Mask to me, I was hesitated to try this. I tried for the first time because I need to review this product and write down my experience.

Read on my experience written from the bottom of my heart on how I felt about this Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask.

Althea Korea claimed Milk Peel Cream Mask is a peeling mask with the ability to gently strip away dead skin cells.

Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask Packaging

I love that the packaging comes with pump out bottle which is easier and convenient to get a good and accurate amount of the mask from the bottle. Compare to tube packaging, I prefer pump out bottle like this to avoid messiness and this is also more hygienic.

Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask Ingredients

* Contains AHA and BHA which help to peel off dead skin cells for smoother skin.
* Casein Protein (milk) provide moisture and help skin to stay moisturized all day long.
* Soft clay-like texture that bubbles up when massaged on damp skin to deeply cleanse the pores.
* Most of all this is a cruelty-free product.

How to apply Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask?

Step 1 - Pump out Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask out from the bottle. Just pump out around 20 sen size out.

Step 2 - Apply Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask on damp skin and massage it gently until it becomes bubbly.

Step 3  - Let it rest on the skin for around 30 - 60 seconds before rinsing it off with warm water. I would say between the 30 - 60 seconds when the bubbles started to appear on your skin, you will feel like carbonated tingling effects on the skin. Therapeutic! When you wipe out the bubble its feel like you just applied white clay mask instead of milk cream mask.

Results after applying Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask to my opinion, it smoothens and brightens up my skin. Even my pores look a lot cleaner. Since I apply this at night, I can feel that my foundation really smoothes out nicely on my skin and last longer too. I was completely mesmerized by the results. My skin moisturizes all day long the after. Currently, I still applying Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask on an alternate day to ensure long lasting result to my skin.

So... I was wrong about not applying milk based skincare onto the skin. It gives more benefit then harmful to my skin.

For readers benefit, here I list down 8 benefits of Milk Cream for skincare :

1. Softens the skin

2. Moisturizes the skin

3. Brightens up the skin

4. Get rid of dead skin

5. Cleanse the skin

6. Tightens up pores

7. Reduces the skin irritation

8. Reduce spot on the face

For a start to use Milk Cream based skincare, I suggest you try out Althea Milk Peel Cream Mask which you can purchase at only RM36 at Althea.kr online beauty store.

Travelogue : 5th Day , Jeju-do

Monday, November 19, 2018 10 Comments
10th October 2018, Wednesday

Last day at Seogwipo. I decided to go for a forest walk again. I need to have more fresh air from here. At least to heal my tired body. The last trip to Jeju-do, I don't get the chance to Cheongjiyeon Waterfall but I did visited Jeongbang waterfall which is nearby. So, I decided to visit this place in the morning. The place is only 5 minutes drive from the place I stay. There are many stalls at the entrance of this place. One of the stalls is selling famous Jeju-do Octopus bread. I was trying to eat this few nights ago at Olle Market, but the queue was super long, so I gave up.

Octopus Bread, Jeju-do

I decided to buy on for morning breakfast. Serious delicious. Cost me KRW3,000. This is like pancakes batter sprinkled with dried octopus flakes, a special Jeju grown barley and mozzarella cheese. I can eat many of this. But when I keep converting the price. Aihhhh!! I eat one enough le... for taste.

Cheonjiyeon Waterfall

I read the water at Cheongjiyeon Falls meaning 'sky connected with land' appears to fall from heavens. The view here really feels heavenly. This place is another Natural Monument in Jeju-do.  I really enjoy the lush green of the surrounding trees.

I just walked and enjoy the crowd of the Chinese tourist who happened to be there too. Yes! they are super loud and kind of disturb the peace too. They are very competitive in taking the best shot with the waterfall background. Haihhh!!!

I quickly move away from this place and wish for a peaceful forest walk. I stop by Saryeoni Forest Path. Just parked the car by the roadside and cross over the wide road opposite with row of tall trees.

Saryeoni Forest Path

This place really reminds me of the cedar forest which I visited up in Alishan, Taiwan. This place is a tranquil path through cedar forest. This trail is a cedar forest grown in between of Mulchat Oreum and Saryeoni Oreum. Not just cedar, I read they even have Japanese Oak, birch and Cypress trees along the 550-meter long trail. Really famous for a quiet walk and I met few brides and grooms to be, take a photo shoot here.

Mulyeongari Oreum

I unable to climb up to Hallasan Mountain but I end up to discover this beautiful Oreum call Mulyeongari-Oreum which located around Halla Mountain. This is one of the oreums that has a wetland on top of oreum. If you watch Korean movie 'A Werewolf Boy' star heartthrob Song Joong Ki, this place was used as a background scene. The wind here is quite strong and really chilly. Not many people here too. So, it really peaceful out here.

I tried to climb up the 800 stairs but I unable to finish it off. I climbed up halfway then stop at the nearby bench to eat prawn crackers which I bought for 1+1 at 7 Eleven the day before. Then while eating, I heard wild animal sounds. I hurried down immediately. huhuhuh...chicken out because I was the only one hiker here. So feel a bit scary cat! huhuhuh... But still..this is the best place I visited. Love the refreshing air and beautiful scenery here. This place is not touristy so this place is really special.

I just explore the nearby and enjoy the view surrounding this Oreum before continuing my journey to Sagumburi Crater.

Sagumburi Crater

Not my first-time visit to this place but really love to visit it for the second time. Check out my previous post here.

Sagumburi Crater is another Natural Monument worth to visit if you are in Jeju-do. This place is a flat crater and it looks like man-made circular stadium view from the top. In a windy day, I love to watch the flame grass dancing to the rhythm. Loving the view so much here. Just walk, breathe and enjoy the beautiful view.

Seopjikoji Hill

It will be beautiful to visit this place during spring time because the famous Jeju yellow canola flowers are full bloom. During my visit only a flat grass and rocks view. Well this place still a perfect spot for chilling out while enjoying the view.

I saw many people queueing up to snap photo near the while lighthouse which I totally skip. Too far for me to walk over there. I just walked around and enjoy the sea breeze which not so pleasant at all because there is pony's dung everywhere here.

Is it the sea breeze or the pony's dung? I really feel super hungry out of sudden. The journey back to my favourite Ajumma will be too long to satisfy my hunger pang. I checked on google and found out the place I was not far from Seongsan Ilchulbong. I remember there are few restaurants nearby there. So decided to eat somewhere there.

Peanut Icecream and Barley Steamed Bread

I read somewhere if you are in Jeju-do, it is a must to taste Peanut IceCream and Barley Bread. I tried peanut ice cream here and in my opinion nothing special about this.  Cost me KRW3,000 for a cup. I won't repeat again.
Then spent about 15 minutes walking to find the famous steamed barley bread place near Seongsan Ilchulbong. I found the place after trying my best to match the Korean character from the image I 'google out'. I bought the green one which is from mugwort and the beige colour which made from barley. Both have red bean paste filling. Cost me KRW600 each bread. I love both but the mugwort one is my favourite.

For those who want to taste this, no need to go far to Seongsan Ilchulbong, you can even get this at Maeil Olle Market, Seogwipo. Just walk around the market you will find this too.

I walk around the small town near Seongsan Ilchulbong and enjoy the view from a different perspective.

Haemul Jeon and Vegetables Bibimbap

My dinner for that night isn't that tasty but enough to fill my stomach. Regret to get carried away at Sagumburi Crater which made me miss out my favourite Ajumma food on my last night at Seogwipo.

Travelogue : 4th Day Jeju-do

Saturday, November 17, 2018 13 Comments
9th October 2018, Tuesday

Starting my 4th day in Jeju-do with another good mood again. I was thinking to visit the most talk about the place if you visit Jeju-do. I don't have the chance to visit this place in my last short trip.

My first time filling up petrol into the rental car too. Next, to the petrol station, there is this big Hello Kitty Museum and Cafe. It was not open yet since still early in the morning. I just parked at the carpark leisurely since no other car except mine. I was busy snapping photos before one Ajussi talked something in Korean. He was telling me to park my car properly. huhuhuh...He must be a caretaker here. I just quickly snap a photo and drove away. Bye, Bye Ajussi. hehehehe...

Osulloc Tea Museum and Innisfree Jeju House, Seogwa-ri, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-is, Jeju-do

Here I am after 30 minutes drive reached this most talks about the place in Jeju-do.Do you know AmorePacific? This company have developed many successful beauty brands- Mamonde, Innisfree, Etude House, Laneige, Lolita Lempicka and Anick Goutal. I bet you people recognize the brand name, right? Ossulloc Tea opened by this company and you will find Innisfree Jeju House next to this place.

I am not that impressed with this place anyway. To me, this is just another shopping place. So if you love shopping, visit this place. I am sure you will buy something even if you don't feel like buying. Too many pretty things pleasing your eyes here. Otteoke!!! Ka-ching! Ka-ching! Tourist shop like crazy here. No joke!!!!
The tea selection here is impressive and I was tempted to get one too. But my options to spend for today is either the tea or the cafe dessert set. I chose the later. muahahaha...because the dessert looks super pretty to my eyes. I can't remember the exact price but around KRW15,000 or more for this set. Love the green tea ice cream and tangerine soft ice cream which I ate until brain freeze in the morning as my breakfast. The green tea rolled cake is fluffy and love the cream. I am not a big fan of cakes at all. So..this is just fine for me because I was so hungry since haven't eaten anything yet.

Then I walked over to the adjacent building to visit the most talked about Innisfree Jeju House. They have another cafe here too. You will see some of the dessert photos below. I don't eat here. I just spent at Osulloc Tea. haihhhh....don't have such free money to spend all the way when traveling with limited cash. I still want to pick up some skincare items from Innisfree Jeju House. Here they have the special collection which only can get in Jeju. I bought some tangerine face mist, tangerine roll on balm and some shampoo. I spent around KRW28,000 here. WTH! Did I hear any dinner tonight???

I have a short stroll around this area. Love the greenery view here. For those who love to take the photo can have so much fun with the beautiful background here. Wildflowers are everywhere. Even the toilet is so much fun and beautiful too.

Here some eye candy for dessert serves in Innisfree Jeju House. Tempting beautiful, right?

Wollyeong Cactus Village , Wollyeong-ri, Hallim-eub, Cheju, Jeju-do

This place is a bit far from Osulloc Tea. If you read my earlier post, I travel using my impulsive feeling without any proper itinerary. Everything base on my google on attraction and just drive all the way using the super fast GPS provided by the Lotte Car Rental.

Even from the main road, I can see a lot of cactus. So it is hard to miss out this area. I drove into the village to find parking. The road a bit narrow too. I finally found public parking. There are many beautiful cafes which overlooking a fantastic sea view.

I just walk a little bit and find the beach, long wooden bridge and cactus on the beach stone. It was raining for a while but then the weather turns to be just fine for a stroll along the wooden bridge.

I have fun observing the villager daily life here too. Like some people busy fishing near the lighthouse. Local drying the garlic and some dog staring blank from the cafe rooftop and crabs crying for help because it stuck in between of the rock.

The village nearby looks a bit old and traditional. The cactus here planted along stone walls and house to discourage entry of rats and snakes. As you see the flower is red and local villager said this has anti inflammatory medicinal effect.

This is another hole trail too. If not mistaken this is Jeju Olle Trail Route 14. Don't miss out this place if you visit Jeju-do.

I was so hungry again. hahaha...is it the weather? Can't be spending my precious money for expensive coffee at the nearby cafe since I just splurged out most of my money at Osulloc and Innisfree. huhuhuh... So wise of me to pack some hot water in my thermos and Maxim Coffee stick. I stop at the nearby bench and open up my own cafe. Enjoying my hot coffee with some delicious cookies which I have gotten from Paris Baguette near Seongsan Ilchulbong the night before. Smart me!!! hahahaha...I even get beautiful sea view while sipping the coffee.

On the way to Yeongmari beach, I found this vegetable farm. Stop the car for some quick photo with don't know what veggies. I think its garlic and the other with the white flower for sure I know. This is buckwheat.

Yeongmari Coast, Sanbang-to, Andeok-myeon, Seogwipo-is, Jeju-do

I don't have the intention to visit Yeongmari Coast. My initial intention is to visit Sanbangsan Mountain for pink mushy bushes. Somehow, the GPS lead me to Yeongmari Coast since this place is along the stretch of Sanbangsan Mountain. Looking at the mountain steep hike, I end up feel disheartened to climb up. My knee especially that day feel super painful. I have another 7 days in Jeju-do. Save up!

I just stroll along while enjoying the superb view in front of me. If going underwater the wide rocks stacking look like a shape of dragon's head. It was a majestic scenery by the sea. You will see a big ship and statue to Hamel Castaway Memorial along the road down to the seashore.

There are fun fairs going on while I was here. So many local enjoying the rides and having fun here. I saw Golden Buddha statue on opposite hills. No keen to climb up anymore. Snap the photo from far is what I did. huh huh

Jusangjeollidae, Jungmu-dong, Seogwipo-is, Jeju-do

Jusangjeollidae is a Natural Monument No. 443. You can see a spectacular natural rock pillar formed by basaltic lava. It looks like giant stairs and so geometrically carved like a hand-made.

It was a calm day so I can see the waves gently lapping to the edge of Jusangjeolli Cliff. At some area can see the red colour algae on top of the rocks which make the view so spectacular.

It was late evening and the sun is going down. Today, I have another awesome view of the golden sunset. Thank you, God! For giving me this opportunity in real life.

Braised Mackarel and Tiramisu Ice Cream

I end my journey for the day with a big plate of braised mackerel at my favourite Ajumma Restaurant. This cost me KRW20,000.

Since I finished off one big plate of braised mackerel, my mouth feels super fishy. I parked my car at the hotel and walked out to the next door 7 Eleven for a cup of Tiramisu Ice Cream. Yummy treats again! muahahaha
