Best App for Self-Guided Walking Tours

Guilin, China
Longsheng Rice Terrace

The last time traveling abroad was at the end of the year 2019. I chose to stay put in my home country for the time being for a few reasons.

First, I am still skeptical about the safety issues. Recently, I got caught the virus and it was a daunting experience for me. The effect is still in me now. Second, the cost is expensive now. My home country's currency is too weak for me to travel abroad. Third, the country I want to visit is not fully open. Fourth, some country has tightened the rules and regulations for foreigners to enter their country. Fifth, I just don't want to be on a plane with many others for long hours. Sixth, I need to deal with my anxiety issue. Everything is too uncertain. Being a person who lives with risk calculation most of the time, it is not a good idea for me to travel abroad now. Travel can wait.

Anyway, those who are more adventurous and excited to see the world. Let me share with you the best app to be your walking city guide. Don't waste your travel money to join the ground tour. You can use that fund elsewhere. Why spend more, when you can save it? Plus, the self-tour guide is more flexible and you can end up discovering hidden gems and experiencing the local vibes. To be honest, I prefer to travel at my own pace without pressure to be in hurried.

Let me introduce you to GPSmyCity. I have been using this app since 2015 during my traveled solo stint before the pandemic. I would say that GPSmyCity not only saves my travel budget but also my little lifesaver! My travel backpack is super light after knowing this app.

Back before I was introduced to GPSmyCity, my backpack was a burden filled with thick print out of maps and articles on places to visit. I am not sure about others, I cut many trees those days with all those prints out. Not to mention, I got confused with my own printout most of the time. Remember, there was one time the immigration in China hold me up because the scanner scanned a thick book, which they thought was a religious book. When they opened it up, it was a thick cover book titled 'Travel Around China'.

You know what? The best way to travel is to not overly plan when you arrived at each destination. Using GPSmyCity, I just downloaded a selection of free travel articles from the app. You don't need to pay for downloading and read these articles. It is just like reading any other travel blog. But one thing good feature of the GPSmyCity app is that you can pay $1.99 to bring the article to life. You are paying for the articles to guide you to the interesting destination feature in the articles. GPSmyCity app will plot on a map and the articles you read eventually become a self-guided walking tour. The map with a little dot so you know exactly where you are and in which direction you are going. Don't worry about the data plan you are trying to save. Once the little dot is plotted, the map can also be used offline using GPS, so you are saved!

For those who have known me, I am famous for being lost my way most of the time. To be exact, bad direction navigator. But as I mentioned GPSmyCity is my lifesaver. It guided me throughout my journey and most of the time I enjoyed what I discover.

GPSmyCity is the largest travel portal with over 6,000 city walks and travels articles in 1,400+ cities worldwide. I am proudly one of those contributors during my active traveling days. I hope to travel again soon.

You can download the app for free and get access to many of the articles and walking tours. With just a small fee you can use the maps offline. So, worry not! you just spend a small sum when it is necessary. Other than that, you can read and enjoy travel articles and tips in the GPSmyCity app for free.

Cosmoderm Luminous A Retinol Review

In general, most people are advised to start using retinol in their mid-20s. Why do we need retinol for our skin? Well, this is because collagen and elastin production starts to slow down. Adding retinol into our skincare routine at age of 25 to 30 is the perfect time to slow down the ageing process. So, what is retinol that people are hyping about? In short, retinol is a topical product containing a vitamin A derivative. Technically speaking a type of retinoid which works to increase collagen production. It helps to treat acne, and blackheads and is also ideal to improve skincare texture such as minimising fine lines, and wrinkles and brightening dull skin. Personally, I am a beginner in adding Retinol into my skincare routine. At the age of 47 years old. I guess, am afraid to start one because I read many side effects if use it wrong.  What is the side effect if you use retinol wrong?  Retinols can increase your skin's sensitivity to sunlight. So, it is advisable to apply this at

For those who don't know what is Plantar Fasciitis, I will give you some brief about this. Who knows it may hit you too once you aging like me...hehehe. Anyway, its good to know. Plantar Fasciitis is common pain for middle-aged people. WTH! can't believe I aged this quickly. Young people don't so happy! If you on your feet a lot and do lots of sports, this can hit you too. This pain caused by straining the ligament that supports your arch.  I got mine last year after came back from Taiwan trip in April 2016.
