TO GIVE UP
Recently, I am obsess with Tzu Hsi, China's longest reigning female rule and its last Empress. I read few books on her life in my most favourite place in China , Forbidden City.
Many considered Empress Tzu Hsi as "The Enemy of the Human Race". In China , children learn that the collapse of every dynasty was the fault of the concubine. Children are taught that the Empress was responsible for destroying China's 2,000 years imperial culture. Chinese and Western books I have read , make you remember Empress Tzu Hsi , negatively.
I read few version of Empress Tzu Hsi, you can imagine if you in her shoes, will you act differently at that point time?
Tzu Hsi was a woman, a concubine. Any wrong move would cost her life. I could say the price of her survival skills in Forbidden City involved lots of personal sacrifice and suffering. For example , she was a passionate woman, a widowed at the age of 26 years old. From then on , she was forbidden to have a relationship with a man. She had to fight her need for intimacy , denying her own humanity.
After she was a widowed, Tzu Hsi ruled China for 46 years. She was forced to learn many things, including diplomacy. Don't you think she make a good efforts to revive China? She may be failed but her struggle to me was a heroic act. At least she keep China in one piece until her last breathe.
This is just my personal perception. Don't hate me just because I admire Empress Tzu Hsi. I just find that her life survival and struggle worth for us to learn something from her.
Don't you think 46 years ruled is a record for a woman? I think she is a great politician herself.
Empress Tzu Hsi heard one beggar singing this during her poverty times ,eating bun which white clay was mixed into the flour. Her family have nothing to eat at that point.
TO GIVE IT UP IS TO ACCEPT YOUR FATE
TO GIVE IT UP IS TO CREATE PEACE
TO GIVE IT UP IS TO GAIN THE UPPER HAND
TO GIVE IT UP IS TO HAVE IT ALL
She changed her family luck when she entered the Selection of Imperial Consorts!
After reading this short story of Empress Tzu Hsi, for those who think they can't change their current luck...do you think , it is possible to change our fate????
Just do it...and DON'T GIVE UP!
For those who wants to have it all???? Don't be greedy!!!!
TO TRULY HAVE SOMETHING IS TO NOT HAVE IT AT ALL!
Open our heart and clear our mind and live in peace...
