From a Routine Dental Check-Up... to One of My Biggest Fears

I honestly thought today was going to be just another routine dental check-up. You know... the usual once-a-year appointment. A quick scaling, a few X-rays, the dentist saying, "Everything looks good. See you next year." Instead... I walked out of the clinic with a referral to a root canal specialist. I still can't believe it. The dentist showed me my X-ray and explained that there is an infection underneath one of my crowned teeth. Suddenly everything made sense. For the past few months, I would occasionally notice a small swelling on my gum. Sometimes there was even a little pus. It would disappear after a while, so I kept telling myself... "It's probably nothing." I never imagined it could be an infection hiding underneath a tooth that had already undergone a root canal years ago. The dentist explained that the infection needs to be treated, and she's referring me to an endodontist...a root canal specialist. Depending on the specialist's assessmen...

My Health, My 3 Failed Focaccia & Why I Keep Going Back to China

Hello strangers...or anyone still miss my blog? Anyone???? Ermmmm....I bet krik krik. It's been a while since I sat down and wrote something personal on this blog.  Life has been... interesting. Not the kind of interesting where everything is magical. More like the kind where you wonder, "What else is going to happen this week?" First of all, staying healthy has become a full-time job. If you've been following my journey, you'll know I've been trying my best to take care of myself. As we grow older, our bodies don't exactly cooperate the way they used to. Some mornings I wake up feeling fantastic. Other mornings I feel like my body has its own agenda. It's like love and hates collides.  I'm learning to be kinder to myself. Healing takes time. Rest is productive too. Then came something I never expected. I was driving through a roundabout when suddenly a foreign worker on a bicycle rode against the traffic. Everything happened so fast. Before I cou...

Cosmoderm Luminous A Retinol Review

In general, most people are advised to start using retinol in their mid-20s. Why do we need retinol for our skin? Well, this is because collagen and elastin production starts to slow down. Adding retinol into our skincare routine at age of 25 to 30 is the perfect time to slow down the ageing process. So, what is retinol that people are hyping about? In short, retinol is a topical product containing a vitamin A derivative. Technically speaking a type of retinoid which works to increase collagen production. It helps to treat acne, and blackheads and is also ideal to improve skincare texture such as minimising fine lines, and wrinkles and brightening dull skin. Personally, I am a beginner in adding Retinol into my skincare routine. At the age of 47 years old. I guess, am afraid to start one because I read many side effects if use it wrong.  What is the side effect if you use retinol wrong?  Retinols can increase your skin's sensitivity to sunlight. So, it is advisable to apply th...

Honest Review: Sunplay Skin Aqua Hyaluronic Acid Serum UV

When I first picked up the Sunplay Skin Aqua Hyaluronic Acid Serum UV , the sleek blue bottle already gave me that “hydrating luxury” vibe. Unlike the usual heavy sunscreens or sticky sunblocks, this one feels more like a skincare serum than a typical sunscreen. That’s the first big difference ! It’s marketed as a serum UV , not just a sunblock. Texture & Application The texture is lightweight, almost watery-gel like, and it spreads effortlessly across the skin. No greasy residue, no sticky film, and most importantly.....  no white cast . This is a huge win for those of us who hate looking like a ghost after applying sunscreen. It absorbs quickly, leaving the skin feeling supple and hydrated, almost like you’ve just applied a hydrating essence. This is where it stands out! It doesn’t just sit on top of your skin to block UV rays, it actually locks in hydration thanks to the 3 types of Hyaluronic Acid (HA, Absorbent HA, Nano HA). Think of it as a sunscreen that doubles ...
