[REVIEW] SKINMADE Star RetinAL Super Skin Renewal Night Serum

SKINMADE

Let me tell you about my latest night-time obsession. No, not binge-watching K-dramas or stalking cute scoop merch (although… guilty 😅). I’m talking about the [NEW] SKINMADE Star RetinAL Super Skin Renewal Night Serum. Yes, the one that promises collagen boost, anti-acne magic, and all that jazz. I gave it a whirl for a few weeks, and here’s the tea.

First Impressions: Fancy Tube, Serious Vibes

The packaging? Sleek. Gold accents. Airless pump. Feels like I’m holding a mini spaceship for my face. It claims to protect the RetinAL from air and light so the potency stays strong till the last pump. I was like, “Okay, science. I see you.”

Texture & Application: Smooth Operator

The serum itself is lightweight, slightly creamy, and absorbs like a dream. No sticky aftermath. I use it after cleansing and toning, before moisturizer. Just one pump....don’t go overboard, babes. Retinol is powerful, not nasi lemak sambal.

The Ingredients: Not Just Another Retinol

This isn’t your average drugstore retinol. It’s Star RetinAL. Smart-release, gentle but effective. Comes in 0.05% to 0.2% strength, so you can build up slowly. Plus, it’s packed with collagen boosters, peptides, and even a NAD+ energizer (I had to Google that one, not gonna lie).

Results: Week 1 to Week 4 to Week 8

💮 Week 1: Slight tingling. No drama. Skin looked a bit brighter.

💮 Week 4: Texture improved. Less bumpy. My hormonal chin acne? Calmer.

💮 Week 8: Skin felt firmer, smoother, and dare I say… glowy? Even my under-eye area looked less tired (and I’ve been sleeping like a squirrel on caffeine).

I didn’t experience peeling or redness.....hoyeahhh! That “Consistency Over Intensity” tagline? It’s legit.

Clinical Claims vs. Real Life

They say:

👄91% felt skin was supple and refreshed

👄 82% saw smoother skin

👄 85% noticed improved appearance

Me? I’m not a statistic, but I’d say I’m somewhere in that happy zone. My skin didn’t transform overnight, but it did evolve.....like a Pokémon, slowly but surely.

Final Verdict: Worth It?

If you’re looking for a retinol that doesn’t bully your skin, this one’s a keeper. It’s gentle, effective, and plays well with other products. Just remember: sunscreen in the morning is non-negotiable.

Would I repurchase? Yes. Would I recommend it to my fellow princesses? Also yes. Especially if you’re in your 30s or 40s and want to fight dullness, fine lines, and acne without turning your face into a battlefield.

Cosmoderm Luminous A Retinol Review

In general, most people are advised to start using retinol in their mid-20s. Why do we need retinol for our skin? Well, this is because collagen and elastin production starts to slow down. Adding retinol into our skincare routine at age of 25 to 30 is the perfect time to slow down the ageing process. So, what is retinol that people are hyping about? In short, retinol is a topical product containing a vitamin A derivative. Technically speaking a type of retinoid which works to increase collagen production. It helps to treat acne, and blackheads and is also ideal to improve skincare texture such as minimising fine lines, and wrinkles and brightening dull skin. Personally, I am a beginner in adding Retinol into my skincare routine. At the age of 47 years old. I guess, am afraid to start one because I read many side effects if use it wrong.  What is the side effect if you use retinol wrong?  Retinols can increase your skin's sensitivity to sunlight. So, it is advisable to apply th...
