Swollen Ankle and Medical Screening Surprise

GLP-1 Malaysia

Hello gaissss!!!

I have been lazy to even update my blog especially my Chengdu trip last October 2025.
I am about to embark into another journey this May 2026. But... the world situation may change my plan though. Big sigh!!!!

Anyway......let me tell you my current concern.

I woke up one morning with a swollen ankle. At first, I thought maybe I twisted it in my sleep or walked too much the day before. But the swelling looked unusual. While I was still figuring out what went wrong, my phone buzzed with a WhatsApp notification. It was my medical screening result. Ohhhh! a bit side track. Gaisss!!! I was so 'kiasu' this morning. I went to fill up my car fuel tank to the max. Ahhh!!! just worried unable or difficult to get the fuel soon. You know...I know...what is going on to this mad world now!

Anyway! lets get back to my story....

For those who have been following my blog, you know I am on the GLP-1 Tirzepatide weight loss journey. More than 4 months in, I have lost over 9kg. Slow progress, yes, but steady. I am just 2kg away from reaching normal weight. This month, however, my health felt strange. Something stuck in my throat, difficulty swallowing, and sometimes feeling like I was lacking oxygen. My neck and shoulder pain added to the discomfort. I suspected thyroid issues since it was sluggish when I first started this journey. At night time, always feel like pulling inside my chest. Sometimes, my body was jerking and most of the time wake up at 2am and unable to fall asleep again. My body really in stress mode.

My kidney readings have always been borderline, same with my liver due to statin medication for high cholesterol. Vitamin D was low too. Insulin sensitivity was another issue, plus low iron status. So, I braced myself before opening the result. My appointment to see the Doctor is on coming Friday. But being me who are now relying my life with AI...hihihihih...I upload it and get the AI to summarize and conclude in a laymen words which is more human understanding rather than listening to the doctor explanation which most of the time make me in daze right after. hahahaha

Based on my personal assistant aka AI, surprisingly, the GLP-1 journey has improved my glucose control, insulin sensitivity, liver health, and even iron status. Thyroid? Not a big concern now. But gaissss!!!! The main issue now is cholesterol. Total cholesterol is borderline high, and LDL (the bad one) indicates increased cardiovascular risk. OMMMAAA!!!! No wonder feeling so weird.

Another shocker: Vitamin D excess. Hahahaha… I have been taking monthly jabs along with GLP-1. Looks like I need to slow down. The reading is very high, exceeding the upper safety limit. Risk of toxicity, calcium imbalance, and kidney health issues. And to top it off, possible UTI. Ahhhhh!!!! WTH.

This journey is full of surprises. One step forward, another challenge arises. But I am not giving up. I will continue to monitor, adjust, and fight for better health. This swollen ankle and medical screening result are just another reminder.... health is a lifelong journey, not a quick fix.

Cosmoderm Luminous A Retinol Review

In general, most people are advised to start using retinol in their mid-20s. Why do we need retinol for our skin? Well, this is because collagen and elastin production starts to slow down. Adding retinol into our skincare routine at age of 25 to 30 is the perfect time to slow down the ageing process. So, what is retinol that people are hyping about? In short, retinol is a topical product containing a vitamin A derivative. Technically speaking a type of retinoid which works to increase collagen production. It helps to treat acne, and blackheads and is also ideal to improve skincare texture such as minimising fine lines, and wrinkles and brightening dull skin. Personally, I am a beginner in adding Retinol into my skincare routine. At the age of 47 years old. I guess, am afraid to start one because I read many side effects if use it wrong.  What is the side effect if you use retinol wrong?  Retinols can increase your skin's sensitivity to sunlight. So, it is advisable to apply th...
